Journal of Business Venturing provides a scholarly forum for sharing rigorous and interesting theories, narratives, and interpretations of the antecedents, mechanisms, and/or consequences of entrepreneurship.

JBV is a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional, and multi-contextual journal which aspires to deepen our understanding of the entrepreneurial phenomenon in its myriad of forms. The journal publishes entrepreneurship research from the disciplines of economics, psychology, and sociology and welcomes research from other disciplines such as anthropology, geography, history, and so on. Given the vast scope of entrepreneurship, JBV article may include several functional areas of business including finance/accounting, management, marketing, & strategy, international business, operations, information technology, sustainability, public policy, medicine, law, music, and so on.
Regardless of the approach, method or motivation, what ties all JBV articles together is they all deal with some aspect of entrepreneurship.
